People occasionally call and ask to ‘rent our venue’ – while we ourselves throw events from time to time, we do not actively seek events, believing that the intrusion and preparation rarely matches the proffered moneys, that there are better bars and venues for all night parties, and that planning groups almost universally overestimate the money to be made by events.
What kind of events are we excited to host?
- Events in which the purpose of the event is itself, rather than the dollars to be made.
- Events which celebrate craft, building, construction, or community art
- Events which bring together many disparate groups for a shared event
- Projects which build at Watershed and conclude with an event.
